What is Concierge Physical Therapy?
Concierge physical therapy is one-on-one, personalized care delivered at your convenience—whether in your home, gym, office, or virtually. It removes the limitations of traditional insurance-based clinics, allowing for longer 1:1 sessions, tailored treatment plans, and a focus on your goals—not just your diagnosis. At Caroline Owen Physical Therapy, we bridge the gap between medical necessity and meaningful progress, helping you return to the activities that matter most.
What should I expect during my first session?
Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation of your movement, strength, function, and personal goals. We’ll discuss your history, review any relevant imaging or reports, and create a plan that’s tailored to your lifestyle and priorities. You’ll also receive hands-on treatment and exercises to start working toward your goals right away.
Do I need a physician referral?
No referral is needed to get started. California allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can schedule an evaluation without seeing a physician first. If you’re using insurance for reimbursement or your condition requires medical oversight, I’m happy to collaborate with your physician or care team.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows you to move easily—like athletic wear. If we’re working on walking mechanics or balance, sneakers are a good choice. If we’ll be focusing on a specific body part, wear something that allows easy access to that area (e.g., shorts for a knee issue, tank top for shoulder work).
Do you offer Telehealth?
Yes, telehealth visits are available for evaluations, follow-ups, exercise instruction, education, and progress monitoring. While hands-on care is a big part of physical therapy, virtual sessions can be highly effective—especially for check-ins, movement coaching, or when you're traveling or short on time.
